Crisis Serve Teams 2020

NEW WAY TO HELP – April 10, 2020

Toyota called Bro. David this morning and mentioned that they were able to get some surgical masks for the hospitals, but there is a PROBLEM! The elastic is not sewn in properly so they can’t be used.

We are looking for several people that could help repair these mask by sewing the elastic back into the mask. The mask and elastic will be supplied by Toyota.

Once the mask are repaired they will be sterilized and given to the hospital for use. Please let me know if you can help out by filling out the form here.

PLEASE SHARE WITH OTHERS IN PONTOTOC THAT COULD HELP OUT!

VOLUNTEER TO SERVE HERE

With the declaration of COVID-19 as a pandemic, we are in uncharted territory as a nation, a state, a community, and a church. As we navigate the next few weeks, West Heights is seeking to find ways to help those severely impacted by the restrictions that are in place. We are forming 4 volunteer teams to serve our in-need members and those that are in the community.

Encouragement

We are not able to visit hospitals and nursing homes as we normally would. The Encouragement Team will provide things such as care packages, where permissible, handwritten cards, and phone calls to those who find themselves alone because of the restrictions in place.

Grocery/Medicine Pick-Up

West Heights has a great opportunity to help those in our community by picking up and delivering groceries and prescriptions.   We are needing volunteers who are available to pick up groceries and/or prescriptions for individuals and deliver them to their door.  You will be assigned a Senior Adult/Shut-in to help with these services.

Food for Kids

Our fellowship hall is becoming the hub for packing meals for kids in need. Volunteers will be coordinated to help pack meal boxes for delivery as well as make runs to grocery stores for supplies for the meal boxes.

Caring for Health Care Professionals

With this virus becoming more and more widespread in our country, Health Care professionals will have an increased work load. This team will provide care packages for these in our county. This team will be made up primarily of those available to drive and pick up/deliver items such as fruit baskets, vegetable trays, and snacks the church will provide.

Prayer Warriors

West Heights wants to cover these teams in prayer. If you sign up for this team, you will receive a daily text or email with names of those serving and being served. Please set aside a few times a day to bow before the Lord and lift these people up in prayer.

As more opportunities arise through our church or through other organizations, we will update the church through this page and the church’s social media accounts. Either click the link below, or call the church office, to fill out the form to volunteer for one of our teams.
