And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. – Colossians 2:13-14
Paul’s letter to the church at Colossae encourages believers to live out the reality of the doctrine of Christ—He is God, He is supreme, and He is sufficient. We have been buried with Him and raised to life with Him as new creations, knit together in love.
In 8 sessions, explore themes of foundational Christian doctrine through verse-by-verse study of Colossians. Learn who Christ is, who you are in Him, and how to grow and mature in your faith.

Dear Church Family,
COVID has once again reared its ugly head in our community and our state. We have been talking with some of our local healthcare workers who are dealing with this pandemic on a daily basis. Their advice to us, since we meet indoors in a large group capacity, is to strongly recommend wearing masks while we gather.
Our goal in making decisions is to listen well to the experts (those trained in the medical field) who live and work in our community. As a church, our mission statement is to LOVE GOD & SERVE PEOPLE. We believe we can do both of these effectively in the coming days without shutting down the church again and continuing to move forward in our mission.
We understand that wearing or not wearing a mask is your choice, but we encourage each member to prayerfully consider doing small things to help out. Each medical professional we spoke with said the same thing:
Since this pandemic has been politicized over the past year, we know that everyone has different opinions about the above recommendations. We hope that you will keep these verses in mind as we move forward.
“13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.” – Galatians 5:13-15
“19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” -James 1: 19-22
May God Bless, and may we look forward to worshipping together this Sunday.
West Heights Staff
We are looking forward to worshipping together this Easter Sunday. Our schedule for this Sunday is as follows:
8:00 AM – Early Worship Service
9:30 AM – Mid Worship Service
11:00 AM – Late Worship Service (Live streamed)
(*NO SUNDAY SCHOOL*)
We are expecting a larger crowd and we want to make sure that we are prepared. Please take a few minutes and let us know how many people in your family will be attending and what service you are planning to attend.
*THIS IS NOT A SIGN-UP FORM, THIS IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY*
Out of an abundance of caution tomorrow morning, Sunday, February 21, 2021, we have decided on the following plan.
8:30 am Early Service CANCELED
9:45 am Sunday school CANCELED
11:00 am Late Service (In-person & Livestream) – Will take place!
1:30 pm – Come & Go Baby Shower for Erin Claire King – Will take place!
5:00 pm – Deacon’s Meeting – CANCELED
As of 8:00 am on Saturday, the church’s parking lot still has a significant amount of ice covering the ground. Even with temps rising into the 40’s today, we are not confident that it will all melt before refreezing tonight. Temperatures are supposed to be above freezing by 9:00 am tomorrow. We realize that we have members spread out over Pontotoc county, and every road will not be clear by tomorrow morning. If you would like to join us at 11:00 am tomorrow for in-person worship, please use caution to make sure you can safely get to the church; if not, stay home and join us for worship through live stream.
