Mission Statement

The Faith Family of West Heights Baptist Church will commit to Love God and Serve People.

“Jesus answered him, “The first of all commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, The Lord is one.  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’  This is the first commandment.  And the second is, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12: 29-31

We seek to accomplish our mission by:

1. Creating dynamic Worship experiences.

We were designed to worship our Creator.

“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness” – (Psalm 29:2)

Other Scripture: Psalm 95:6, Ephesians 5:18-20

2. Developing healthy Disciples of Jesus.

We express our love for God by following Him as His disciple making other disciples.

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  – (Matthew 28:18-20)

3. Encouraging dedicated Service to the church.

We express our love for God by our service in the church.

“Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.” – (Psalm 100: 2)

Other Scripture: John 12:26, Matthew 5:16

4. Promoting deliberate Ministry to the world.

We express our love for God and others by intentional acts of ministry.

“For you, brethren , have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love  serve one another.”  – (Galatians 5:13)

Other Scripture: Mark 9:41, Matthew 25:40, James 1:27
