West Heights Youth and Parents,
I just wanted to take a moment to make you aware of a few things coming up in the next few weeks.
First, Operation Christmas Child-Shoebox Delivery Day
Monday, November 20th
We will be loading all the OCC Shoe Box crates up on a truck and delivering them to Harrisburg Baptist in Tupelo. This has become a big thing for our youth to help with each year. We will start packing the truck at 8am.
We also need youth and/or parents to go with us to Tupelo in the church van, unpack the truck, then go eat somewhere afterwards.
Second, Christmas Party
Wednesday, December 13th
We are planning to have breakfast food, gospel devotion, and some form of the game Dirty Santa.
If your child would like to participate in dirty Santa, they need to bring a wrapped gift. The gift needs to be $10 or less and be socks-any kind of socks, fuzzy, crazy, Christmas, etc…
There will be a dress-up contest for the party. The students will be creatively dressing up with biblical themes or bible stories this year.
WE NEED:
-Help serving food
-Help cooking the cinnamon roll waffles in the youth room
-1 more person to cook in the kitchen. I already have a main chef.
-I’ll also need two judges for the dress up contest, if creative and fun is your jam.
Please text or call Casey at 662-419-4859 for questions or to sign up to help.
The church is providing the food and drinks. I’ve encouraged the youth to bring a friend. This has been a very good evangelistic event for us in the past. Parents are welcome to attend as well.
Third, FCA Youth Rally
Wednesday – November 29
Instead of regular youth services that night, we will be in the West Heights Sanctuary for a rally put on by West Heights and FCA Pontotoc. It will be from 6:30 to 8 pm. Our youth praise band will be singing and Lance Pickens will be speaking.
